Camp 506 in Kaplan Twp was built in 1946 near the CPR tracks just west of the village of Sultan. It was the loading point for the wood coming from the outlying camps 503 and 508. There was a steam-powered jammer at the siding to load the 8-foot logs on to rail cars. The jammer was moved to Camp 513 in 1952 and the camp closed in 1953.
