Haujobb - Vertical Mixes
Looking beyond the confusing mislabeling of the tracks on this remix album, this Haujobb completes and fixes all the problems from their previous album, Vertical Theory, from which all the original tracks are taken. Vertical Theory as an album was alright, satisfactory, totally acceptable, etc., but unfortunately, it was not really remarkable, and thus it fell through the cracks. Vertical Mixes allows us the chance to revisit it, updated and improved, and turned into something really good. It would seem that the music of Haujobb, the sounds he uses, etc., are really quite excellent, and that the only thing that is truly needed is a bunch of fresh looks from a group of well-selected musicians. Simply put, the remixers perfectly compliment the sounds of Haujobb, and wisely, Haujobb picked bands that represent a wide range of industrial sounds to take on his tracks. From Seabound to Iszoloscope, to Backlash to Asche, there is enough range here to bring something new and different-- which is the whole point of a remix album. The collaborative track done with This Morn' Omina is also a pleasant surprise.
Vertical Mixes also includes a couple of new tracks as a bonus. Overall, an excellent work.
