Pyroto's History (Very Condensed)
Pyroto Mountain was the first mountain to appear when web Pyroto came into existence sometime around 5500 (October 1999). Before very long, the alliance of Jimbo, Noodle Dwarf and Zelda emerged as the dominant force on the mountain, and laid in place some elements of Pyroto Mountain's personality that are still in evidence today, such as the understanding that attacking is a valid and vital part of the game, and an abhorence of garbage posts.
The Rise and Fall of the Prodigals on Pyroto
Not very long after the "Big Three" had attacked the wizards Nimby and Kirin to ensure that said wizards did not pass them on the race to the top, they were challenged by the gradual emergence of another team, which eventually included the wizards Thargor, Mingus, MsMittens, Jekyl and Andreus. This clan, who soon adopted the name The Prodigals, pulled into the lead somewhere around level 270. They were in turn passed by the climbing partnership of Ninjalicious and FFTobago at around level 440. Ninjalicious and FFTobago became the land's first pinnacle wizards on 5653.
Not very long afterwards, an argument between the Prodigals and Ninjalicious and FFTobago over the interpretation of the mountain's rule against mass promotions led Ninjalicious and FFTobago to attack the Prodigals and their new ally Bricker. Mingus and Bricker were banished, while the others were reduced or demoted to the bottom. Afterwards, virtually every active wizard on Pyroto Mountain bestowed manna to Ninjalicious and FFTobago to show support, and the Prodigals remaining on Pyroto Mountain migrated away.
Aside from a minor conflict involving some Imaz pinnacle wizards that was quickly resolved, a few random attacks by the wizard Fionn Mac Cumhail against Bison and JadeMage, and an attempted assault on Amado by the wizard Soup, things were relatively calm for some time.
War Against the Prodigals and Lou
On 5715, Sekhmet (formerly Mingus), Andreus, MsMittens and their new clanmate Soulrift returned to Pyroto and kamikazied, reduced, demoted and drained Ninjalicious and FFTobago repeatedly. Declaring that no wizard could assist Ninjalicious and FFTobago, and attacking several Pyroto and Restlech wizards who attempted to, the Prodigals seemed determined to rule over a mountain where the entire populace was against them. After slightly more than a week of this, however, the Prodigals lost heart or changed their minds, and Soulrift and Thargor cooperated in returning all the lost levels and manna to Ninjalicious and FFTobago. The invaders then vacated the mountain once again.
During the attack by the Prodigals, an unknown user named Dolphin_4U had also joined in the attacks on Ninjalicious and FFTobago, and many wizards on Pyroto now worked together to keep Dolphin_4U in negative manna for fear that she would kamikaze again. The wizards Lou and Soulrift attempted to assist Dolphin_4U and to argue in her defense, but at roughly the same time that the Pyrotians agreed to give Dolphin_4U a second chance, the Catapult spell was introduced to the game, and Lou simply catapulted away Dolphin_4U without permission. Lou then catapulted the wizards DigitalMan and Deadmandead out into the middle of nowhere, where some allies of Lou's were waiting to attack the Pyrotians further, requiring FFTobago to go and rescue them. Lou then reduced DigitalMan, and DigitalMan retaliated in kind. Shortly after this mess, Lou went into hiding and left the game.
Not long afterwards, DigitalMan discovered hundreds of copied and pasted messages were being posted and then hurled by the wizards DieKhan and Insider, operating on Restlech and Nettrivaerb. Seeing a need to stop this immediately and punish it severely, Ninjalicious catapulted the two offenders from Nettrivaerb to Pyroto, where DigitalMan and FFTobago banished them. Many wizards on other mountains found this punishment extreme, and this action was widely criticized.
The next major conflict involving Pyrotians occurred when several wizards on Pyroto posted messages criticizing Soulrift for his carelessness in promoting and bestowing wizards who then abused their newfound and unearned power. Claiming he saw these messages as threats, Soulrift then banished the Pyroto wizards Deadmandead and Newkohnuholdor and kamikazied Ninjalicious. Soulrift was promptly banished by DigitalMan.
Kamikaze Craziness
When the Servants compressed the hundreds of mountains (including a dozen inhabited mountains) down into a mere five, most of the wizards who had inhabited the now-extinct mountains came to Pyroto. The vast majority of these wizards were either inactive or barely active, and Ninjalicious and FFTobago reduced or demoted many wizards who seemed to have power that was out of proportion to their esteem and participation. One of these semi-actives, named Gshift4, kamikazied Ninjalicious successfully before being reduced by The Prodigal Soul, and several others attempted kamikazies on either Ninjalicious or FFTobago. At around the same time, a newcomer named Sir Tristan took constructive criticism from Hedwig in the wrong spirit and attempted to kamikaze Hedwig, and various enemies of Keyser Soze/Keeper_of_Secrets on other mountains made multiple attempts to kamikaze him, all of which were unsuccessful.
